The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) supports the development of lifelong communities that offer flexibility in housing and transportation, promote healthy lifestyles, and actively distribute information to ensure equitable access to services, with a particular emphasis on healthy aging. We hope this page provides information that reminds us why Medlock Park is such a great place to be at any age.

We will continue to post announcements of interest to residents aged 55+ in the MANA blog and list ongoing opportunities on this page. Free Garden walks and talks on Fridays in the Spring and Fall.  Fall 2014 scheduled walks and talks start September 5 and end on October 31.  Walks start at 10:30.  Talks start at noon.  Native plants on sale from 10-2.

Cost: court rental ranges from $2.50 - $5.00 per person (different rates at different times, see website for details). No special rates for persons 50 years of age or older.

Cost: daily ($5/day) and seasonal ($90) rates; rates are lower for City of Decatur residents; no senior discount for non-residents

This location has the largest population of older adults in the state of GA.  Group Classes are appropriate for seniors.

Dujuan G is the sales manager and will waive any joining fee.  Monthly fee is $29.95 per member.

AMFIT Movement

Hours:
Tuesday and Thursday 5:45 to 6:45 AM

High Impact Interval Training designed to get heart rate p high.  Exercises provide the most body weight resistance-push-ups, jump squats, dips, hill sprints. Etc.

Average age range of participant is 20s to 40s, but active seniors should be able to handle the workouts with some modifications.

$50 a month.  Must commit for one month.
